April 30

I have a sore throat today, and it is really annoying. I keep coughing, which makes my throat hurt and gives me a headache. I can't even laugh, because it makes my throat hurt.

Sometimes I say really silly things, and don't even realise until I've said them. Earlier, my little brother was complaining that he had hiccups. I said, and I quote, "Hiccups aren't lethal anymore."

My older brother is tapping his fingers on the keyboard, not from typing, but (I think) from impatience. I should finish.

April 29

We went to see the Avengers yesterday, and it was really cool! I'm not the comic book geek of our family (that's my older brother) but I really enjoyed it. The stuff he told me about who they were, and what they did, and all the stuff you only really know from comic books, was interesting, and may have even made it a more enjoyable experience.

I can hear my sister singing from our bedroom. She just got new headphones, and is using them to the full. My little brother described it as "falling asleep in music". She can't hear anything you say, and doesn't want to either. He's trying to get her to play a game with him, but she isn't listening. I'm going to go help him out.

April 27

We have to leave the house in an hour if we are going to make the bus to the city. That doesn't give me nearly enough time to do everything I wanted to. I wanted to be able to write up a new stoy on Charlie, but now I might have to do that on the train.

In fact, there is so little time that I haven't even turned on my notoriously tempermental laptop. I'm blogging from the main computer instead.

My little brother got a whiteboard today. Itt should be easier for him to do Maths now, because he can work it all out on a white board instead of on paper. Sometimes paper just isn't big enough. It's so much more fun to scribble wildly, as big as you need, without having to continue equations over the page. Sometimes I have to take up three pages of my maths book with one equation! My writings are pretty well spaced.

My sister is playing the keyboard. Fortunately, she's stopped with the Christmas Carols. I am so glad of that. She hasn't done any for a while. However, she does play 'Can you feel the love tonight', which always sounds so sad. She doesn't agree with me and my older brother. She tells us that it is a happy song, all about true love. I don't care if it has true love in it, that doesn't change that it is a sad song. The music is sad, and some of the lyris are sad too.

It is really cold today. It's really starting to feel like winter. That's not really a bad thing, because my birthday is in winter. Somehow, my birthday feels like it is just around the corner, even though it is over a month away. I couldn't possibly start counting down until May.

April 26

I really don't have much to write about today.

We are still enjoying the ANZAC biscuits my siblings made yesterday, but I don't think they will last much longer. They're too good for that!

That's about it really. Other stuff happened, but I'm not sure if it was post-worthy.

April 25 (Anzac Day)

This blog is called Random Thoughts, so: Earlier, I was lying on our trampoline looking up at the sky, and the clouds made me think of lying under a giant bed. It seemed like I was lying under a giant cloud bed, that was sagging in the middle, and was all gray.

My mother has tried all day to get out wifi set up, but nothing seems to work. I think she said that it's faulty, and we'll get a new one.

I've been reading all day today, and all yesterday evening too. It was fun. I love to read, but recently I've been doing more online reading, and less book-in-hand reading. Last night, when I was racing through three books, one after another, sitting there, curled up on the lounge, book in hand, it felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. A little bit like coming home after a long holiday. It just kind of feels right.

My older brother, my sister, and my little brother made Anzac biscuits today. They made some with chocolate, and some without, and personally, I think the chocolate ones aren't nearly as good as the plain ones. The cloudy sky made it fantastic to be sitting inside with a book, smelling Anzac biscuits cooking, and tasting them after. The perfect way to spend the holiday.

It's getting colder now. With winter comes my birthday, so I can't wait! The only problem is that I can't decide on a party theme! I want to have a party with a few friends to celebrate my birthday, but I can't pick a theme. I can't send invitations until I have a theme, so I'm starting to worry about it. It's a very good thing that it isn't winter yet, and I still have more than a month to go.

We didn't go square dancing last night. Some of us were kind of tired, and just wanted a night to chill at home. Now I just have to hope that we haven't missed out on learning something vitally important!

April 24

The workshop today went well. It was weird, the only people there were the two teachers, my brother, myself, and one other student. Not many people could make it apparently.

I'm going to have a reading afternoon. It's been a while since I sat down with a book or three, and read the afternoon away. It's only three o clock, so I'll have plenty of time. I don't want to be on the internet this afternoon for two reasons. One, to disprove my brother's claim that I spend heaps of the internet (he's right, but I don't want to admit it). Two, my mother is setting up a wireless system, and she'd like us to be off the 'net while she's doing it.

So, off to the books!

April 23

Too much singing! I was singing on Wednesday, singing again on Saturday, and singing yet again today! After singing for TWO WHOLE HOURS today, my throat was really sore.

Tomorrow we have an essay writing workshop for Seniors. I'm  not sure how interesting that will be. I don;t have much confidence in my essay writing ability.

My older brother is bugging me for our internet connection, to the point of watching over my shoulder to see when I'll be finished, so I will have to be off really soon.

My little brother is singing, pretty well. For someone who delights in singing off tune, he can sing really well, at least he can if he knows the words.

I can't post any pictures of party photos yet, but hopefully I will soon. Keep reminding me!

April 22

My sister's birthday party was yesterday, and it was so cool! First we played all sorts of games with our baby piggies, like making them go through tunnels, and under obstacles, and racing them against each other. They weren't very good at it, but they looked so cute that it didn't matter. After that we went on SingStar. The boys didn't like that as much as the girls did.

This morning, our youth bible study was on, even though I didn't think it was. That was really fun. Soon, we'll have a room all to ourselves, to do our study in.

I thought I'd have heaps to write, but I don't. My sister is singing really loudly in our bedroom. My older brother is playing a computer game beside me, and my little brother is out in the backyard doing who knows what. My mother is relaxing with a book.

One final really cool thing: MY BLOG NOW HAS TEN FOLLOWERS!!

Friday 20 April 2012

April 20

For some reason I have been reading about April Fool's Day hoaxes this afternoon, and some of them are fantastic! There's a whole list of them here. I've only read the first two pages so far, and I knew a lot of them beforehand, from previous research, but they are still really funny. One of my favorites is the spaghetti trees. I can't believe so many people actually fell for that!

My little brother, mother, and sister have been frantically preparing for my sister's birthday party tomorrow. There's heaps to get done, it seems. She hasn't even finalised her costume yet, and neither have I! It has a Z theme, so she wants me to come as Zelda. I don't know what I would wear to be Zelda. I don't wear long purple dresses, and I don't have a sword. Hopefully, my sister will help me find something. Either that, or the guests won't know what Zelda looks like, so it won't matter.

It's Friday! No more schoolwork until Monday. YES! My schoolwork isn't really hard, but it can definitely be boring. I'll enjoy having a break. Our teacher will probably be coming next week, and she'll want to know how we are doing with our schoolwork. I hope I have good news.

No youth group tonight, which is sad. I enjoy youth group. I get to be with my friends, and play games, and have fun. I don't see my friends that often, so I enjoy it when I can.

I should probably be helping with party preparations right now, so I have to go.

April 19

All day long I have been doing activities with time limits, so now I feel like I should be typing as quickly as possible. I had a typing test this morning. Now, I should be finished with typing test for a while. Yay!

My little brother is playing Wii Tennis, with some awful singing to go with it. He can sing really well when he wants to, but when he doesn't, he sings really loudly and out of tune.

I had a very productive day today. I got a lot of work done in a pretty short time, and then did some more work in a slightly longer time.

My sister, Queen of the multi-taskers. She's brushing her teeth while playing Mahjong. It looks kind of funny, but she's managing.

No youth group tomorrow night. They are having a meeting. My sister will be going to a meeting of the Kid's Club staff, so I'll be stuck there, all alone, with nothing but my books, my iPad, and maybe my computer. Sounds like fun! I'd still prefer youth group though.

April 18

It's my sister's birthday!!! We've spent the whole day singing on SingStar. She loves to sing, so that's what we have done all day. She even roped our brothers into it. They aren't very good, but it's fun. My sister and I are the best singers, so for the team games we split up into me and our older brother, and her and our younger brother. Mostly we got ties.

My sister liked the present my little brother and I got her! It was a miniature hat, that had special significance for us. It would take a lot of explaining, and it's kind of personal, so I won't explain, I'll just say that when she saw it she burst out laughing.

Square dancing last night was fantastic! We caught up on the new moves pretty easily. It was so funny when the caller called my sister out into the middle of the ring so that everyone could say Happy Birthday. The only problem is that my mother has said she'll do it for my birthday as well, and mine will be worse because it falls on the day, not the day after! She's talking about a cake!

Tuesday 17 April 2012

April 17

Our teacher didn't come around today, and I have a crazy idea why. My sister puts important dates, like teachers visiting, or meetings being held, in her calendar. So far, everything she has put in her calendar has been postponed or canceled. Weird, but true. She put the teacher coming around in her calendar. Therefore, the teacher didn't come around. That's my crazy theory. The teacher comes next week instead.

We go square dancing tonight! We took a break for the holidays, but holidays are over, so we'll go square dancing.

My sister's birthday is tomorrow, and I haven't made her card yet! Maybe I'll make it before she wakes up tomorrow. She always wakes up late, so I should have plenty of time.

Monday 16 April 2012

April 16

I got a lot of schoolwork done today. I actually managed to finish one of the subjects I was behind in, so I am now up to date in that, and I'm getting closer with the other two.

Tomorrow, our high school supervisor is coming around! Scary! I'm not exactly looking forward to telling her that I'm behind on my schoolwork, even if it wasn't entirely my fault. Because only my older brother and I are in the Senior class, she'll just be talking to us, and that is a scary concept. I don't like being singled out, but that's what going to happen. She'll single us out one by one and.. POUNCE! Just kidding. It just feels like that sometimes.

I've had a headache today, because my little brother doesn't understand the concept of 'inside voice'. He thinks that anything that should be said should be said loudly.

My sister's birthday is 2 days away!!! (How come she always seems to show up in my posts?)

Sunday 15 April 2012

April 15

We went to see The Lorax yesterday. I thought it was fantastic. It was had a very deep message for a kids movie. It was about saving the environment, and how if we don't do something, the environment will be destroyed. I thought the whole movie was fantastic, and I loved the songs.

My sister has her birthday this week.

Both my brothers are playing computer games, one of which is slightly more advanced than the other. My mother is baking. She makes really nice cakes, and she has a few to make. A friend of hers has a birthday tomorrow, and my sister has a birthday later this week, and will need another cake for her birthday party. That's a lot of baking.

School is back tomorrow. Oh no!

Wednesday 11 April 2012

April 11

Today, my older brother and I had to watch the movie Australia, for English. That sounds kind of weird, that we watched Australia, for English, but we did. It's a really interesting movie, but some bits are tragic.

My brothers are playing games, and my sister is working on her newsletter. I'm not sure why she likes producing it, but it makes her happy, and it's kind of fun to write in with stories and reviews.

Today appears to have passed unusually quickly. That could have something to do with the fact that I spent until 10:45 reading in bed. Hey, it's holidays! My sister was asleep that whole time.

Tomorrow we have to go into the City. That includes going to the library, so I can't be too disappointed, but it's still annoying.

Tuesday 10 April 2012

Hardy Boys vs Nancy Drew

Lady Disdain asked if I like Nancy Drew as well as the Hardy Boys. I don't know, but for some reason she doesn't appeal to me as much. I like the camaraderie between the boys. It's so much cooler. Nancy Drew is interesting, but the Hardy Boys are cooler. I love it when they are all together though.

April 10

My sister is playing on the keyboard. Her birthday is just over a week away, and her party is a few days after.

My little brother and I put our money together and bought our sister a present today. It's a little odd, but it has significance to the three of us. It's a reminder of something we used to do a lot, but don't have much time for now.

My older brother planned ahead this year, and bought our sister's present in January. The first time he told me, I thought he said July, and I was amazed that anyone would buy a present so far in advance! January is sensible though.

This post seems to be all about my sister! Well, she's the only one I have, and she has a birthday soon. I'd love to say how old she'll be, but instead I'll just say that it is an important birthday.

Monday 9 April 2012

Typing

I had to do a touch typing test earlier for my schoolwork, and it was hard! I normally look at the keys while I type, and I don't leave my fingers on the home keys, so it was really hard to try and type looking at the screen. I actually found that I did it better with my eyes closed! I think I annoyed my brother and sister by saying "g gg ggg h hh hhh f ff fff j jj jjj" and other stuff like that. My brother has to do it next week though!

Sunday 8 April 2012

I got tagged!

Entirely by surprise, I got tagged by Lady Disdain at Sincerely, Lady Disdain. I've never been tagged before, and it is so cool! Thanks so much! It was kind of cool to see my blog up there in the tagging list. Okay, here goes.

This is how it goes:
1. Post these rules
2. Post 11 random things about yourself (optional)
3. Answer the questions the tagger posted for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. Go to their blog and tell them that they have been tagged

I don't really want to put down 11 random things bout myself, so I'll skip to part 3.

1)      If you could have one fictional character enter your own reality, who would it be?

That is a really hard question. I have a whole lot of people I would love to meet, but right now I think I would love to meet Frank Hardy of the Hardy brothers. I think The Hardy Boys are incredibly cool,  to the extent I borrowed every single Hardy Boys book I could find in our local library and the Brisbane one. If either came into my reality, I'd probably get involved in a really cool mystery as well, and that would be fun. As to why Frank and not Joe, I just like Frank better. Possibly because he's older, and isn't as sarcastic.

2)     In your experience, what is the kindest thing you have seen anyone do that really touched your heart and made you rejoice in humanity? (It could be a stranger, a family member, or even yourself who did it.)
Why are these questions so hard? I have seen a lot of people do some really nice things, and I don't think any particular event stands out. Also, I have a vivid imagination, so I could be transferring a book event into real life. However, there is one event that really was important to me. One time I was really upset about something, I don't know what, and I was crying really hard.  It was about 11 PM. My older brother came into the room and asked me if I was okay. For me, that was really special.
3)     If you could be anywhere but here at this very moment, fictional or real, where would you be?
If I choose somewhere fictional, will the fictional people be there too? If I could go to anywhere right now, I might choose Araluen, from the Ranger's Apprentice books. It sounds so cool there, and it's in the Middle Ages, with honour and chivalry, which doesn't seem to be as important these days.
 4)     What, in your opinion, does it take to be a truly admirable hero/heroine, in films, books or reality?
To be a truly admirable hero/heroine, they need to be honourable, courteous, polite, caring, and preferably witty.
5)     Have you ever been to a play/concert/performance? Which one was the most memorable and why?
My sister and I were in ballet for a while, quite a few years ago, and we did concerts for a few years. The most memorable performance, is much harder to decide though. The youth group I am in has also done performances, and those are memorable. The most memorable, however, would be the one my older brother, sister, myself, and our dance group, performed in front of our church, to the song  'In Christ Alone' . That was really special, and hearing that song still reminds me of it.
6)     Which time period in fashion most appeals to you?
Again with the hard questions! I like old style dresses, but I'm not sure what time period. Maybe early 1900s?
7)     If you could be any animal in the world, which one would you be, and why?
I'd like to be a robin. They always sound so cheerful, and old fashioned. I think that would be fun. I don't really know much about them though.
8)    Describe something that was really influential in your childhood. (If it’s too personal, then describe the second most influential moment, and so on).
I really have no idea what the most influential moment would be. It partly depends on what it's supposed to be influencing me to do. I don't know what an influential memory would be.
9)     What is your absolute favorite thing about this world we live in (excluding people)?
That's really easy. BOOKS! I love books, and there's really no other competition.
10) What is your least favorite aspect in people?
My least favorite aspect in people would be the aspect that makes them ignore someone else. My second least would be when adults act like kids can't comprehend normal language, especially if they are an older kid. These are both incredibly annoying aspects of people.
 11)  And, to end on a good note, what is your most favorite attribute in a person?
My favorite attribute in a person would be making everyone feel included. That is very valuable.

To answer the bonus question, if I got tossed into a book, and this may sound weird, I want one that is a little bit boring, or else I might want to stay!

Now the really really hard bit. I have to come up with ELEVEN questions!

Here goes *biting fingernails*

1) What is your weirdest habit?
2) What is your favorite childhood memory?
3) If you could learn one unusual skill, what would it be and why?
4) What would be your ideal outfit?
5) Do you love chocolate, and if not, WHY NOT?
6) Describe your ideal theme  park ride.
7) What is your favorite time of day?
8) If you could be any bird, what bird would you want to be? (Imaginary birds are allowed, but you have to describe them)
9) If you could meet anyone, fictional or real, for lunch, who are they and what would you eat?
10)  Why do you blog?
11) If someone called you crazy, what would you say to them?

Happy Easter!

Even though it's Easter I still don't have a lot to write about. We each got a block of chocolate this morning, as well as an mini Easter Egg.

Easter is the time to celebrate the empty tomb because-

HE IS RISEN!!
