Sorry I haven't posted for a while, but things get busy at the end of the term.
On Saturday, most of my youth group, including me and two of my siblings, went to the Sciencentre in Brisbane. I've been there before, but only with family, so it was cool to see everything with friends, especially the ones who had never been there before.
Yesterday, my youth bible study broke up. There was a big party, with lots of ice throwing. It wasn't supposed to be thrown, but the leaders are worse than the kids. They started it! It was hilarious to watch.
Today, my older brother and I have heaps of Maths to do. I have a fair amount done, so I'm taking a break to blog before I get back to schoolwork. A Maths exam is coming up later this week, so we have to prepare. At some point, we will also both have to record our speeches, so they can be sent to the teacher. Mine is a bit long, but she said it would be okay...this time.
I can barely wait for holidays next week! I have some stuff that has to be done, like tidying the room I share with my sister, but I also want to read a LOT! Not just books, but anything I can find. Hopefully I will be able to see some friends as well.

My sleepover party was last night, and it was pretty fun. We watched movies and ate pizza, and it was cool. I've never hosted a sleepover before, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but I think it was good.
The house would be quiet, if not for the music my mother is playing. My brothers aren't back yet, and the three of us are quiet. For those who don't have little brothers, you have no idea how loud they can be.
I love holidays. On weekends, it seems like there is always so much that has to get done. On holidays, the day just seems to stretch on and on, with nothing that has to be done. I love it!

My birthday is tomorrow! I'm really excited.
As a something special for tomorrow, we are all going to go to Caboolture Library. We haven't been since it moved a few months ago, so I'm really looking forward to seeing the new place.
On the weekend is my party. So far I have three definites, though one of the guests will have to leave early. I guess that's okay. At least I'll have a few of my friends who can stay the night through.
Now, the biggest problem is the cake. My mother likes to bake us all birthday cakes, but I don't really like cake. I'd prefer something else, but she isn't sure if she can make something else, especially because she doesn't have a lot of time to buy ingredients. So I'll probably have cake again this year too. I suppose that then I can see what cake my mother will do this year. One cake that she suggested that I would like to have is chocolate cake. But not just any chocolate cake. This chocolate cake has chocolate just oozing out of it. If you don't think that sounds delicious, you are not a true chocaholic.

I finally finished the unit of my history that I was working on. It took weeks, but now it is finally over. Yay! History is interesting, but it takes so long!
Tonight I give out my party invitations, and I'm excited. Now I can't wait for my party. Truth be told, I think I'm more excited about the party than my birthday. After all, I've had plenty of birthdays, but I've had far less parties.
After several days of cold weather, so cold that I wore ugboots all day, and my little brother went around the house pretending to be frozen solid, the weather is finally warming up. I'm actually hot in my long sleeves. I'm sure I'll be glad of my long sleeves tonight though. Youth group goes late.
Song Lyrics! Some songs have fantastic lyrics. My favorite lyrics tell a story. Have you ever heard the song Walking Her Home, by Mark Shultz? It has a fantastic story, that is sad, yet sweet. If you've seen The Notebook, this song will probably remind you of that movie. They are very similar.
My mother just made some fantastic cookies. As my sister described them, they are like apple pie, in cookie form! Apple pie is one of my absolute favorite foods, so I think these are totally delicious.

I finally wrote those invitations. They are sitting beside me here as I type. My mother suggested a planets theme, and I went with it. Tomorrow I'm going to give the invitations to as many of the invitees that come to youth group. If they didn't come, maybe I'll see some at church on Sunday. Now, with the invitations printed, my birthday and birthday party seem to be getting closer!

It was so cold yesterday! At square dancing it was even colder. Some of the people who have been doing it for a while said that the hall where we dance can sometimes go down to two degrees Celsius. That is so cold, I don't even want to think about it!
This afternoon, I was reading a book called True Stories of the Strange and Unknown. There are some amazing stories there. This is one of them.
The Wonderful Watch
When Wal Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina, accidentally dropped his watch from a light plane at 600 metres, he though he'd never see it again. But next day, while gardening, he found the watch in his own backyard. It was still running-and keeping perfect time.
Isn't that so weird?
I'm currently reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Apart from the fact that we watched the movie not too long ago, I wanted to read it because it has some wonderful descriptions of winter, and chocolate. What better book is there to read on a cold winter's night, curled up under the blankets, than one that really makes you appreciate everything you have, and how blessed you are. Winter is a time when you want yummy hot meals, and there are people like Charlie who don't get them. I don't think that a visit to a chocolate factory would work for all of them though.
My birthday is coming up so quickly! It was three weeks away yesterday. None of my family have bought my presents yet, but at least they have plans to go shopping. I also still need to write invitations to my birthday party, and I want to have them written by Friday! I have to get on with that pretty soon.

April 25 (Anzac Day)
This blog is called Random Thoughts, so: Earlier, I was lying on our trampoline looking up at the sky, and the clouds made me think of lying under a giant bed. It seemed like I was lying under a giant cloud bed, that was sagging in the middle, and was all gray.
My mother has tried all day to get out wifi set up, but nothing seems to work. I think she said that it's faulty, and we'll get a new one.
I've been reading all day today, and all yesterday evening too. It was fun. I love to read, but recently I've been doing more online reading, and less book-in-hand reading. Last night, when I was racing through three books, one after another, sitting there, curled up on the lounge, book in hand, it felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. A little bit like coming home after a long holiday. It just kind of feels right.
My older brother, my sister, and my little brother made Anzac biscuits today. They made some with chocolate, and some without, and personally, I think the chocolate ones aren't nearly as good as the plain ones. The cloudy sky made it fantastic to be sitting inside with a book, smelling Anzac biscuits cooking, and tasting them after. The perfect way to spend the holiday.
It's getting colder now. With winter comes my birthday, so I can't wait! The only problem is that I can't decide on a party theme! I want to have a party with a few friends to celebrate my birthday, but I can't pick a theme. I can't send invitations until I have a theme, so I'm starting to worry about it. It's a very good thing that it isn't winter yet, and I still have more than a month to go.
We didn't go square dancing last night. Some of us were kind of tired, and just wanted a night to chill at home. Now I just have to hope that we haven't missed out on learning something vitally important!

April 22
My sister's birthday party was yesterday, and it was so cool! First we played all sorts of games with our baby piggies, like making them go through tunnels, and under obstacles, and racing them against each other. They weren't very good at it, but they looked so cute that it didn't matter. After that we went on SingStar. The boys didn't like that as much as the girls did.
This morning, our youth bible study was on, even though I didn't think it was. That was really fun. Soon, we'll have a room all to ourselves, to do our study in.
I thought I'd have heaps to write, but I don't. My sister is singing really loudly in our bedroom. My older brother is playing a computer game beside me, and my little brother is out in the backyard doing who knows what. My mother is relaxing with a book.
One final really cool thing: MY BLOG NOW HAS TEN FOLLOWERS!!

April 20
For some reason I have been reading about April Fool's Day hoaxes this afternoon, and some of them are fantastic! There's a whole list of them here. I've only read the first two pages so far, and I knew a lot of them beforehand, from previous research, but they are still really funny. One of my favorites is the spaghetti trees. I can't believe so many people actually fell for that!
My little brother, mother, and sister have been frantically preparing for my sister's birthday party tomorrow. There's heaps to get done, it seems. She hasn't even finalised her costume yet, and neither have I! It has a Z theme, so she wants me to come as Zelda. I don't know what I would wear to be Zelda. I don't wear long purple dresses, and I don't have a sword. Hopefully, my sister will help me find something. Either that, or the guests won't know what Zelda looks like, so it won't matter.
It's Friday! No more schoolwork until Monday. YES! My schoolwork isn't really hard, but it can definitely be boring. I'll enjoy having a break. Our teacher will probably be coming next week, and she'll want to know how we are doing with our schoolwork. I hope I have good news.
No youth group tonight, which is sad. I enjoy youth group. I get to be with my friends, and play games, and have fun. I don't see my friends that often, so I enjoy it when I can.
I should probably be helping with party preparations right now, so I have to go.

March 8
It's totally quiet here. My brother has to have total silence for the assignment he's working on. I finished mine already, so I'm on my laptop now. I can hear the click of my computer keys, and they sound so loud in this atmosphere. My little brother and sister are down in the boys room, my sister helping our brother. She's better with computers than he is, so can give him help when he needs it.
I can't believe that there is less than a month left in term. It seems that I have way too much to do for it to come that soon, as well as the fact that it seems like the last holidays ended not long ago!
When the holidays come, my sister's birthday comes soon after. Her birthday is in the middle of April, and she's got party plans settled (mostly). I think she's planning a bit late. She only came up with the plans last weekend. I started planning my (early June) birthday party in January! But that's definitely too early. I just love the feeling of excitement that comes with planning a party, so I just couldn't wait any longer!
When you read something, do you prefer proper grammar, or the kind of grammatical errors most people make? I've read stories that make my spellchecker gasp in horror, but I like it because it sounds real. What story about little kids with perfect grammar sounds at all realistic? I don't care if 'shouldn't've' sounds wrong, because that's how little kids say it. That's much more important than accuracy. It's really just a different kind of accuracy, actually.

January 7
My sister is mad at me for not playing with her, even though this morning she didn't want to have anything to do with my games. She can be very frustrating sometimes. Right now she's setting up a game of PollyPockets with my little brother.
When is too early to plan a birthday party? I planned the majority of my birthday party last night, even though it won't happen until early June, and my sister has an important birthday before that. I'm just excited about my plans. I want to host a sleepover party with three friends. It's the first time I've done anything like that, and I'm excited, and a little apprehensive. I want to make sure everything is well planned.
My mother is getting the house ready for guests on Monday. She has a big list of things she wants done, and I think some of them are less than sensible. At least the house will be clean then.
My little brother hasn't done much crazy singing recently. Maybe it's because of the holidays. If you can play, why sing? I wish he would though. It's really funny!
Excepting some unforeseeable event, I'll post again tomorrow.

December 9
Today, the bad weather is finally over! It's a nice sunny day outside, which is great, except for the fact that sun means I have to put clothes on the washing line. But that's not so bad if it means sunshine for the 2nd day of the holidays.
Yesterday I didn't have time to blog, because I got up so late. Then we had to go to the city so my sister could have a checkup on her braces. Now, instead of purple, they are red and green for Christmas. Next, she wants them green and gold for Australia Day, and after that either pink for Valentines Day, or green for St Patrick's Day.
Tonight, the youth group my brother and I go to is having water night break up. We can all get really wet to celebrate our last night for the year. Just before, the kids group my younger brother and siter go to is also having a wet night, so it will be a very wet evening. Thankfully, it shouldn't rain.
My little brother and my sister are splitting up their PollyPocket collection, so that they can play. My older brother is lying on the lounge, reading a book about superheroes, or he's wandering around the house, looking like he isn't doing anything. One day we may find that he's working with nuclear physics, or is inventing some earth shattering new technology, or (and this is even more unlikely) is going out partying!

December 7
It's cold and rainy here. It hasn't stopped raining for more than a few minutes all day. Constant rain isn't much fun, but my little brother is enjoying splashing in the mud. He can make splashes go further than I would've thought possible.
My older brother is playing on the Playstation 2. I guess that's what teenage boys like to do. He is also good at cooking potato gems and french fries in the oven though. My sister was playing on the keyboard, but is know watching my brother on the Playstation.
Today is our breakup day. That means a delicious meal of party food! My personal favorite is the apple pie, but creaming soda, banana lollies, potato gems and party pies aren't bad either.
My mother found a really cool site of the 5 best toys ever here. Some pretty good ideas, but a bot hard to wrap, except the 3rd, which comes prewrapped, though not all the wrappings are good ideas.
