Well, more Shakespeare today, but not as much, so it wasn't too bad. Also, my brother and I did it together, which made it so much better.
I love the book Watership Down. It is amazing. I read the first chapter to my family today, trying to inspire interest. My little brother liked it, and now he wants me to read it to him! Not quite what I had in mind. My sister still holds the opinion that they are rabbits, and therefore not worth reading about. My mother and older brother have tried it before, and can't remember what it was like. I think it is incredible, and really make me feel like I'm there. My favorite characters are Hazel and Blackberry.

May 16
It was so cold yesterday! At square dancing it was even colder. Some of the people who have been doing it for a while said that the hall where we dance can sometimes go down to two degrees Celsius. That is so cold, I don't even want to think about it!
This afternoon, I was reading a book called True Stories of the Strange and Unknown. There are some amazing stories there. This is one of them.
The Wonderful Watch
When Wal Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina, accidentally dropped his watch from a light plane at 600 metres, he though he'd never see it again. But next day, while gardening, he found the watch in his own backyard. It was still running-and keeping perfect time.
Isn't that so weird?
I'm currently reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Apart from the fact that we watched the movie not too long ago, I wanted to read it because it has some wonderful descriptions of winter, and chocolate. What better book is there to read on a cold winter's night, curled up under the blankets, than one that really makes you appreciate everything you have, and how blessed you are. Winter is a time when you want yummy hot meals, and there are people like Charlie who don't get them. I don't think that a visit to a chocolate factory would work for all of them though.
My birthday is coming up so quickly! It was three weeks away yesterday. None of my family have bought my presents yet, but at least they have plans to go shopping. I also still need to write invitations to my birthday party, and I want to have them written by Friday! I have to get on with that pretty soon.

Happy New Year
Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Now to other news. We got back from our holiday this morning, after spending the night on the train. I didn't get a lot of sleep, but I got enough.
My family is considering having a dog. We don't know what type to get, and I don't really mind. My little brother really wants a dog though. He spent the last few days with one that is 8 years old, and totally wore it out. So he'd like a puppy, or dog, at home, so he can play more with a dog.
Do you ever notice you act differently depending on who you are with? I know someone who acts differently with different people. Sometimes using bad language, sometimes being really nice, sometimes sarcastic, sometimes getting frustrated easily. I don't really like it, but I've gotten used to it.
My mother cleaned up the house while we were on holidays, and now my brothers room is unrecognizable. It's all clean! Stuff that's been missing for months has shown up in their room.
Have a great 2012, and I hope you manage to keep your New Year's resolutions!

21 December
Tonight I go on a sleepover with some of the girls in my youth group. I'm really excited! I've never actually been on a sleepover before, excepting sleeping over with family, and that doesn't really count.
Christmas is getting closer, and my little brother is obstinate when it comes to deciding a Christmas Eve movie. He doesn't like How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and in my opinion, is scared of it. He doesn't relly like the other movies either. I don't really know what he wants to watch.
My sister is on the keyboard, practicing again. By New Year, we should all know those songs by heart. I already know most of them.
My little brother is outside again. I don't know what he's doing, and it's generally best not to ask. Sometimes he gets me to join in, like being a general, or him telling me to get off his property.
Every Christmas, our family puts wishes on the Christmas tree. We have Christmas wishes for almost everyone since 2000. It's really fun to read all the old wishes. Some of them, from when we were little, are really funny! Every year they have a different design. This year is a manger.
To finish up, one word. This word is a great point of summer in Australia. MANGOES!!

December 14
As the Tintin movie is coming out soon, and looked interesting, I thought I'd try reading one of the comic books, and it's really good! I've never read Tintin before, but it is actually really funny.
I saw a scary sign at the shopping centre today. It said (with spooky background music) '11 days until Christmas'! AAAAAAAHHH! Who let Christmas come and sneak up on us like that? Surely it shouldn't be allowed.
Tonight my family and I are going to go looking at Christmas lights. Not as many people have got their lights up as last year. I'm considering door knocking, and interrogating them on why they don't have Christmas lights up, except we haven't got ours up yet! Last year some of the Christmas displays around here were amazing, especially the one just a few houses up. That was truly spectacular, but it hasn't been put up yet. Hopefully it will be a bit later.

December 12
This morning I've been working on Christmas presents. I made a few this morning, but I can't explain what they are in case my family will read my blog.
My sister can sleep for longer than anyone I know. She can sleep for 12 straight hours, and would sleep through almost anything.
Right now, my brothers and sister are cleaning out the guinea pig houses. Our piggies get very mucky in the rain, and its been raining a lot recently. My sister is currently washing Blessing, our youngest piggie. She's absolutely beautiful, and so small, which means that sometimes the other girls pick on her.

Is anyone stuck for a Christmas present? My sister had a really good idea. She wants to buy a chicken, or water purification tablets, from World Vision. They send you a gift card for you to give to someone, instead of a Christmas present.

December 2
I think I have discovered my favorite Christmas Carol. The Little Drummer Boy. I love the lyrics. I can easily imagine myself standing there before the King, with no gift worthy enough, except what I can play, doing my very best, to please the King of Kings.
Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
What's your favorite Christmas carol? My sister has 3 favorites: Joy to the World, Come All Ye Faithful, and Silent Night. My little brother likes Feliz Navidad, the one by The Wiggles. (I like that one too.) My mother likes O Holy Night, because of the line 'Till He appeared, and the soul felt its worth'. My older brother likes Jingle Bells, not really as a favorite, but more because I pestered him into telling me a carol. In my opinion, everyone should have a favorite Christmas Carol, because even if they don't do Christmas, Christmas carols are still beautiful music.
On this day:
1876- Grace Bussell, a 16 year old, rescued many passengers on horseback, with the help of the stockman Sam Isaacs, when the SS Georgette ran aground at Busselton, Western Australia.
2004-British ballerina, Alicia Markova, died age 94. She popularised ballet in the UK and the USA. She danced the lead roles in Giselle, Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, and is best known for dancing Giselle, her title role.
Christmas is such a special time of year. I love the quiet times of listening to carols, the loud times of going Christmas shopping, the crazy times of putting up the tree, and the special family times of things like carols at church.
Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum
A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum
Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum
To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,
So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
When we come.
Little Baby, pa rum pum pum pum
I am a poor boy too, pa rum pum pum pum
I have no gift to bring, pa rum pum pum pum
That's fit to give the King, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,
Shall I play for you, pa rum pum pum pum,
On my drum?
Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum
The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum
I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,
Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum
Me and my drum.

Christmas gift suggestions: to your enemy, forgiveness. To an opponent, tolerance. To a friend, your heart. To a customer, service. To all, charity. To every child, a good example. To yourself, respect.

December 1!
I love Christmas!!! We finished decorating our Christmas tree less than 10 minutes ago. Once again, I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! It makes me go loopy. One of our family traditions is to write a wish each year at Christmas, and its much fun to read out all the old wishes. For example, my younger brother wanted Bob the Builder to visit at Christmas when he was 2. Such a cute wish. :)
My sister is going to make shortbread now. This is probably getting repetitive, but I'll say it again anyway. Say it with me! I LOVE CHRISTMAS!
It's raining outside, which just adds to the Christmas spirit. When it's really hot outside, it's hard to muster enthusiasm, because it's so hot.
Our Christmas tree looks so great, standing in the lounge room, near the window. It makes it truly look like Christmas, especially in the rain. To add to the atmosphere, my sister is playing Christmas carols on the keyboard and singing along.
I'm too excited to put down anything about what happened today in history. Christmas time is such a special time of year. Lots of good memories, Christmas carols, presents, family and Christmas parties. Plus we can celebrate the One who came to live and die for us. Everyone deserves a birthday part, and Jesus gets one that's celebrated all over the world! Pretty cool.
Carols are great. Here are the beginning verse of two carols, O Holy Night, and We Wish you a Merry Christmas.
O Holy Night
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas;

O Holy Night
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
We Wish You A Merry Christmas
We wish you a Merry Christmas;
We wish you a Merry Christmas;
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Good tidings we bring to you and your kin;
Good tidings for Christmas and a Happy New Year.
