November 2

Today is the 2nd of November. Guess what? We don't have a single thing on this week...every day has at least 2 things!
On this day, in years long ago:
1868- New Zealand officially adopts a standard time to be used nationally.
1895- the first gasoline powered race in the USA. The prize: $2000 ($49,500 in today's money). At the time a loaf of bread would have cost 3 cents.
1755-Birth of Marie Antoinette, future Queen of France, before being beheaded during the Revolution.

I was a queen, and you took away my crown; a wife, and you killed my husband; a mother, and you deprived me of my children. My blood alone remains: take it, but do not make me suffer long.
