There are only 46 more days left in the year. Doesn't sound like much, does it?
On this day:
1952-Shigeru Miyamoto, the inventor of Mario, Donkey Kong and the Legend of Zelda, was born. In 1998, he was the first person inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences. Miyamoto is reputed to have said "Video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock and roll."
1532-The Inca Empire fell to Spain when King Atahualpa was taken prisoner. He was originally held for ransom, but later murdered.
1384-Hedwig was crowned King of Poland, even though she was a woman.
