17 September

Yesterday I got back from youth group camp. I had a great time! It was freezing cold, and we had to get up really early, but it was fun, and I enjoyed it.

I don't really update my blog regularly, do I? I should, but I'm never quite sure what to write, or who is actually reading it. So, I think in future I'll update more sporadically, when I actually have something I want to write, whether that's something funny I've heard, or just something about the weather.

August 20

It is finally getting warmer here. We might even be able to go swimming soon. That would be so great. I love going swimming, especially seeing my hair swirl out around me. It also means that I might be able to take some of the blankets off my bed, and not freeze at night!

My brother and I are finally finishing that maths assignment. I finished mine, my brother isn't far off. Other than that, not a lot happened today.

On Saturday, we went to Currumbin, and went on the Green Challenge. That was so much fun! I did the green course, and most of the red course. It was totally awesome, with climbing through tunnels, flying foxes, swinging on ropes, and walking tightropes, all really high off the ground. I loved it!

The other stuff there was good too. We saw a baby joey, touched a baby crocodile, patted kangaroos, and had an emu follow us around for a while. What a time!

August 10

Sorry that I haven't posted for a while, but I've been sick. Now I'm getting over it, but my older brother is sick!

My little brother had a birthday two days ago, on the 8th. I got him a huge, rainbow umbrella. I didn't realise just how big it was until I saw it stretched out, but it really is huge!

My little brother and sister and I have rediscovered one of our old favorite TV shows: Recess! My little brother doesn't really remember it that well, but my sister and I do, and we are loving watching it all again. It always amazes me what you can find on YouTube.

It is really windy here. The guinea pigs don't seem to mind that much, but I do. Whenever I go outside, I freeze!

May 18

I finally finished the unit of my history that I was working on. It took weeks, but now it is finally over. Yay! History is interesting, but it takes so long!

Tonight I give out my party invitations, and I'm excited. Now I can't wait for my party. Truth be told, I think I'm more excited about the party than my birthday. After all, I've had plenty of birthdays, but I've had far less parties.

After several days of cold weather, so cold that I wore ugboots all day, and my little brother went around the house pretending to be frozen solid, the weather is finally warming up. I'm actually hot in my long sleeves. I'm sure I'll be glad of my long sleeves tonight though. Youth group goes late.

Song Lyrics! Some songs have fantastic lyrics. My favorite lyrics tell a story. Have you ever heard the song Walking Her Home, by Mark Shultz? It has a fantastic story, that is sad, yet sweet. If you've seen The Notebook, this song will probably remind you of that movie. They are very similar.

My mother just made some fantastic cookies. As my sister described them, they are like apple pie, in cookie form! Apple pie is one of my absolute favorite foods, so I think these are totally delicious.

May 16

It was so cold yesterday! At square dancing it was even colder. Some of the people who have been doing it for a while said that the hall where we dance can sometimes go down to two degrees Celsius. That is so cold, I don't even want to think about it!

This afternoon, I was reading a book called True Stories of the Strange and Unknown. There are some amazing stories there. This is one of them.

The Wonderful Watch
When Wal Williams of Charlotte, North Carolina, accidentally dropped his watch from a light plane at 600 metres, he though he'd never see it again. But next day, while gardening, he found the watch in his own backyard. It was still running-and keeping perfect time.

Isn't that so weird?

I'm currently reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Apart from the fact that we watched the movie not too long ago, I wanted to read it because it has some wonderful descriptions of winter, and chocolate. What better book is there to read on a cold winter's night, curled up under the blankets, than one that really makes you appreciate everything you have, and how blessed you are. Winter is a time when you want yummy hot meals, and there are people like Charlie who don't get them. I don't think that a visit to a chocolate factory would work for all of them though.

My birthday is coming up so quickly! It was three weeks away yesterday. None of my family have bought my presents yet, but at least they have plans to go shopping. I also still need to write invitations to my birthday party, and I want to have them written by Friday! I have to get on with that pretty soon.

May 6

What a boring day today! Pretty much nothing has happened, at least not anything that I would blog about. I can hear my little brother and sister playing PlayStation 2. We have quite a few games on there, including a few LEGO games, and they're playing one of those.

There has been some beautiful weather today. It has been the perfect day to sit outside and read, and for part of the day, that's what I did.

April 27

We have to leave the house in an hour if we are going to make the bus to the city. That doesn't give me nearly enough time to do everything I wanted to. I wanted to be able to write up a new stoy on Charlie, but now I might have to do that on the train.

In fact, there is so little time that I haven't even turned on my notoriously tempermental laptop. I'm blogging from the main computer instead.

My little brother got a whiteboard today. Itt should be easier for him to do Maths now, because he can work it all out on a white board instead of on paper. Sometimes paper just isn't big enough. It's so much more fun to scribble wildly, as big as you need, without having to continue equations over the page. Sometimes I have to take up three pages of my maths book with one equation! My writings are pretty well spaced.

My sister is playing the keyboard. Fortunately, she's stopped with the Christmas Carols. I am so glad of that. She hasn't done any for a while. However, she does play 'Can you feel the love tonight', which always sounds so sad. She doesn't agree with me and my older brother. She tells us that it is a happy song, all about true love. I don't care if it has true love in it, that doesn't change that it is a sad song. The music is sad, and some of the lyris are sad too.

It is really cold today. It's really starting to feel like winter. That's not really a bad thing, because my birthday is in winter. Somehow, my birthday feels like it is just around the corner, even though it is over a month away. I couldn't possibly start counting down until May.

April 6

The Passover meal last night was actually really interesting, and delicious. It was fun to find out about all the traditions involved, and what they represented. The 8AM service wasn't bad either, though my sister's alarm didn't go off, so we slept a little later than expected.

Today was a really nice day. It was cool in the morning, with beautiful blue skies, and a hint of cloud. Then for some reason it sprinkled later in the morning. But the rest of the day was bright and beautiful.

The music from whatever computer game my brother is playing is starting to annoy me. Why can't computer games have awesome music, instead of slightly irritating, impending doom kind of music?

March 18

I'm still having fun playing with Charlie. We are back at home, and I didn't want to go to the bother of turning my laptop on just for blogging, as it takes so long to turn on and I would prefer to use the time playing with Charlie. So I'm on the family computer.

We went to Bellingham maze today. While we were heading there, it was drizzling. When we got there, it was raining. When we went around the maze, it was pouring, until we had to find my older brother, and then it was a total downpour! When we left, it was back to raining, and by the time we stopped for lunch, it was only drizzling. That does NOT seem fair.

Lemonade and Cupcakes. What a great afternoon tea!

March 5

I still cannot get used to the idea that it is March, at least when I am blogging. I keep writing February by mistake.

I am writing on the family computer, but I'm getting better at it. My laptop is still being slow. I love my laptop, but I would like it to be faster. Eventually, I'll save up enough to get myself a new one.

It waas absolutely pouring this morning. We all got soaked, as we were out all morning. Then we get back, and the rain stops completely. Really annoying!

I got my new glasses today! They are purple, with a pretty design on the side. My older brother says I look much more serious wearing them. They are a lot darker than my previous bright blue glasses. This will be my first pair of metal glasses for about 3 years. I've only been wearing glasses for approximately 5 years.

We sold Angel and her siblings today. I'll miss her, but she's so pretty, she'll find a good home, and probably find a boyfriend too. We also sold her loudmouth cousin, Thunder. That's definitely a good thing. Now he won't squeal at me every time I go near him. He's always hungry, and always loud about it.

It's getting colder here. You can tell it's Autumn. It's wet, cold and cloudy. If this weather keeps up, we won't go square dancing tomorrow night!

February 29

It's a nice day outside. Blue sky, not too hot, but not cold, a few clouds gently drifting along, yet for some reason I'm sitting here at my computer. All I can say is, I'm not an outdoors person.

Tomorrow, we head into the city so my sister can get the colours on her braces changed. She hasn't decided what colours yet. While we are in the city, we are also going to the Sciencentre to check out the new display, 'Whodunnit?'. We'll get to do all sorts of interesting things, like compare tire tracks, dust for fingerprints, and *GROSS ALERT* examining maggots on a security guard's corpse.

Tomorrow we will also get to go to the Brisbane library. That means more books, and probably a heavy backpack all the way home from all the books I pick up. I have real trouble not borrowing a book when I find it. Sometimes it's reasonably easy, sometimes I just have to put every cool book I find in my backpack. That always means a very heavy backpack.

Last night we went square dancing again, and it was still fun. I'm getting the hang of some of the moves now, so it gets easier. I can't say it gets more fun though, because it was already so fun to start with!

February 27

We are back today, and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I got a lot done, and I enjoy that.

My older brother is giving my younger  brother computer game advice. I love seeing such camaraderie between my brothers.

Usually my sister washes our guinea pigs, but today I washed a few, and I was in no way envious. Guinea pigs that have been living in rain for a week aren't usually noticed for their good looks...or smells. In future, I should help out more, because it's not fair for my sister to do it all herself, but I can't say I'll enjoy it. Quality time with our guinea pigs might help though...they are really cute when they're small.

February 25

I don't want to write much now. I'm reading a story on the internet, so I want as much time as I can possibly have before it gets too dark. We did not go to Dreamworld today, due to a severe weather warning. The weather today was hot and rainy, the worst possible combination. Bye!

February 24

I am completely convinced that you can find anything on the internet, if you know where and how to look. I love searching some of my favorite things on the internet, and reading what other people have to say about them. I think it is so cool, and it makes me think about things in a different light.

Do you ever do something way too much, and then start thinking like that? I have recently had the weird experience of typing my thoughts on a mental computer. I can't touch type, and if you asked me where the keys are on a keyboard, I wouldn't really know, but somehow, I can find them without any trouble in my head. Also, if I've been reading a particular book for a while, sometimes I can still see certain passages from it when I close my eyes. It's kind of cool, and kind of weird.

It is drizzling steadily here. It'll probably be cold tonight.

February 13

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. What am I going to do? Probably wear red or pink, and leave it at that. I don't know what else I would do.

Yesterday was incredibly hot and muggy, today was hot, yet now it is storming. Why can't the weather make sense, and do one thing at a time? It's uncomfortable feeding the guinea pigs in the rain. My guinea pigs are the furthest away, so I have to spend the most time in the rain.

We've been out all day, a lot of it because of my sister. She has both singing lessons and keyboard lessons, and is good at both. It takes up a lot of time though.

The other big reason we were out today is because it is our grandpa's birthday, so we took the hour long drive up the coast to say Happy Birthday, and bring a cake. The cake was delicious!

One thing I didn't mention over the weekend is that my brother's have switched bunks! My little brother now sleeps on the top bunk, and my older brother has the bottom bunk. It made sense, because my older brother stays up later, and now he doesn't have to climb the ladder and possibly wake up my little brother.

I was reading about Brother Andrew today, a guy who smuggled Bibles behind the Iron Curtain. Some of the stuff he did was amazing. Like, in line at a checkpost one time, he noticed how thorough the search was. It usually took up to an hour, and could involve pulling all the stuffing out of the seats to make sure there was nothing hidden there. Yet somehow, he was through it in under 30 seconds, even with a pile of Bibles in open view in the passenger seat. God can do the most amazing things!

February 2

I've got another follower, Wayne. Thank you! It is so cool to see another person following my blog.

Last night, my brother inscribed his initials in soap too. Unfortunately, he chose the soap that we are currently using, and therefore his initials have worn put already.

Isn't it annoying when days are hot without being sunny? I love a hot sunny day, or a cool cloudy day, but a hot cloudy day is just frustrating. It doesn't seem sunny enough to put a fan on, but it's too hot to get by without one. Fortunately, there is a nice breeze blowing through the doors most of the day.

For once, my sister has disappeared, but my older brother is right nearby. I think my sister is in our room, maybe with headphones in, listening to music. My brother is in the backyard, checking for damages after my little brother was in the backyard with a soundtrack of smashing sounds. A little bit alarming.

It's a quarter past two right now, at least in this part of the world. I don't know what everyone else is doing, but they are probably at school. This is part of my schoolwork. Lucky me!

I can't post tomorrow, because we have to get up really early to get to the city, so my sister can get her braces checked. There appears to be a problem with them. After that, we stay in the city for the whole afternoon, because we're spending the weekend with our dad, who lives in the city. There isn't really a point in making the trip twice. My older brother will be in the city all day anyway, to study. So no more posts til Sunday.

January 28

My brother is taking on a mysterious Fred on his computer. He is once again on Truthseeker, and is being attacked by plants. My little brother and my sister are playing a two player platform game. My sister is better at it.

Not much is happening now, because it's a weekend. On weekends, we don't do much. Especially when the weather is this weird. It was fine this morning, torrential 5 minutes ago, and is now drizzling. Hard to work with that kind of weather.

I don't know what else we will be doing today. Maybe a board game in the afternoon, I'll read a bit, online or off, and not much else.

My brother had to leave his game temporarily, and now his computer character is talking, asking when it will be time to save the world. It's got a bit of an attitude for a computer game. I think it's bored.

January 27

Thanks to my new follower, Lady Disdain. I now have a grand total of 5 followers! It's not much, but it's a start.

My family had an art afternoon here. My little brother was engraving, my sister was painting, and my older brother and my mother were drawing.  They did pretty well, but didn't finish. They probably will soon, maybe sometime next week.

First week back is almost over. Tomorrow is Saturday, and that means a break, and hopefully a sleep in. It also means I get to read my comic books again before they have to go back to the library. It's our policy here that no comic books are allowed to be borrowed out of holidays, unless holidays are coming up really soon, like, next week.

My sister is going to have to do keyboard soon, but for now she's just playing music on her computer. She just came up and read my post from over my shoulder, and now is talking at me about putting her in my blog. She doesn't read my blog, so she doesn't know what I blog about.

My little brother is in the backyard-turned-swamp. He likes playing out there, and even has a pair of cut down gumboots so he can be out there whenever, all weather.

Another guinea pig had babies today. They are super cute, and we called them Thunder and Lightning. Thunder is all black, Lightning is kind of really dark brown with a streak on his forehead. We called them Thunder and Lightning partly because of their colours, and partly because of the weather, which is atrocious (that is such a great word). Due to the aforementioned atrocious weather, I haven't got any photos yet.

January 12

Thankfully, it's not nearly as hot today as it was yesterday. It's just very warm, rather than incredibly hot.

Yesterday, my little brother and I played a game of Monopoly. We don't play it very often, because it often ends in an argument, but yesterday we did. I spent almost all my money on property, and got 4 complete sets, and 2 others. He only spent a little bit on property, and kept the rest of his money. At the end, I had $4212, and he had $3209. Property is so better!

My little brother got a skateboard just after Christmas, and he loves to lie on his stomach and push himself through the hall. Last night, as he was getting up off his skateboard, he sat on the nose, and the other side rose up and whacked him! It was hilarious. I'd been pushing him before that, and that was funny, but that was awesome, funniest thing he did all night. THe second funniest would be when he go this directions a little off, and accidentally went right into a box! He had rolled off before that, and there was such a great feeling of 'Abandon Ship!', that I couldn't help but laugh.

My sister is practicing on the keyboard again, and I hope that soon she'll get some new songs to play from her teacher, so that she will stop playing Christmas carols. I'm getting slightly sick of them, but I don't think she'll be stopping anytime soon.

January 11

I had a really great post here, but then nothing showed up. I don't know what happened. Unfortunately, I can't rewrite it all, because it's lunchtime. It's still really hot here, and my sister and I have been wearing sleeveless dresses all week, and got a new one each yesterday. I have to stop, because it's time for lunch.
